Patience

A man, a call, a land unknown

A call of the void, an expanse, the sky

Trust, falling into the unknown

Like life, the certainty of uncertainty, Why?

Back to reality

Abraham, a friend so faithful

A story I've heard one too many

A journey where length of time could have left me so hateful

Love, Joy, Peace, Patience...

25 years of budding obsolescence

Pain, Trial, Endurance, Patience...

Or, 25 years of perfected obedience

Vanity is fleeting. Evanescence

Desires seething. Acquiescence 

Or maybe not

Surely not!

Trust in the Lord with all your heart

Willing to give his son and restart

A confidence I can never understand

A length of time I could not withstand

I sit in my room and reflect

Abraham, a man most blessed

Me, a child, most impressed

Life, a journey that left me bereft

Reminded of Isaac, an evidence,

Seed of Abraham, man of nations

I'll take each stride in faithfulness

I'll walk this path in patience.
